France at the beginning of the 1980s: a spirit of optimism is spreading – also within the music. In a sleepy little town, the clique around the charismatic Jerôme (Joseph Olivennes) and his introverted brother Philippe (Thimotée Robart) runs a pirate radio station in an attic. When Marianne (Marie Colomb) moves to the village from Paris with her young daughter, the brothers both fall in love with her.  With his engaging manner, Jerôme is quickly able to win Marianne over, while Philippe is afraid to show his love. He is drafted into military service and stationed in West Berlin. Here, the encounter with the dazzling radio presenter Dany (Brain Powell) changes his life: He blossoms as a DJ on military radio and dares to confess his love to Marianne over the radio. But when Philippe returns home, he realizes that everything has changed and gets into a major conflict of conscience.

LES MAGNÉTIQUES is a French-German Co-Production by Srab Films, Easy Tiger, Elemag Pictures and Port au Prince Film & Kultur Produktion and was founded by the MDM, Mini-Traité and DFFF. World Sales are handled by Indie Sales, Port au Prince Pictures will act as the film’s German producers. The film will celebrate its world premiere at the Quinzaine des Réalisateurs in Cannes.
