Corporate lawyer Urs Blank (Moritz Bleibtreu) is an undisputed star in his field. He’s successful, has money and the perfect woman (Doris Schretzmayer). When a business partner commits suicide due to Blank’s tough negotiating, he begins to question his life.

Perhaps that’s why he feels drawn towards Lucille (Nora von Waldstätten), whose alternative lifestyle opens an entirely new world to him. She seduces him to trip on magic mushrooms. With grave consequences for Blank, whose personality changes after the bad trip and reveals his darker side: The bourgeois lawyer becomes an instinct-driven and ruthless murderer.

Rattled by these changes, Blank flees into the woods in search of a remedy to his mushroom trip gone wrong. Yet, for his ruthless client Pius Ott (Jürgen Prochnow), the unpredictable Blank has become a ticking time bomb. Now Urs Blank becomes a hunted man, and his fight to return to civilization becomes a race for his life.

THE DARK SIDE OF THE MOON is an intense thriller based on Martin Suter’s best-selling novel.
